YMCA to Host Teen Forum

Parents and their teens are invited to learn more about challenges facing them in the Huntsville/Walker county Community next week during a Teen Forum, Hosted by the Huntsville YMCA, the Huntsville Walker County chamber of Commerce and Oldies Radio 1490. According to YMCA Director Sandra Clifton the teen forum will offer information on Youth Activities, Teen Crime, Gang Activities and Illegal Drug Availability. Clifton says that parents and their teens will be able to use the event to ask questions of numerous panelists during the event, and walk away with knowledge to better their teens lives. Panelists include: Detective Justin Smith from the Walker County Sheriff’s Department, Sgt. David O’Rear from the Huntsville Police Department, and Scott Atnip from Huntsville’s Promise and the Faith in Action Committee to name a few. The forum will get underway at 5:30 at the Walker Education Center Monday, with exhibit participants proceeding the event. The forum is free and open to the public.
